Our 24-hour pest control service in Pretoria

Pests don't keep office hours. A wasp nest by the front door on a Sunday or rats in a restaurant kitchen at night won't wait, so here's how to get help and what to do in the meantime.

If you have a pest problem outside normal hours, call us on 012 012 5526 or send us a WhatsApp with a photo and a short description. We'll look at what you've sent, tell you what you're dealing with and how urgent it really is, and arrange the visit. For many problems we can also tell you exactly what to do tonight to stay safe and keep things from getting worse.

What counts as urgent?

Some pest problems genuinely can't wait until Monday. Others feel urgent but are better handled calmly the next working day. Here's how we think about it.

Usually urgent

  • A wasp nest at a doorway, window, play area or pool, especially if anyone in the household is allergic to stings. See wasp nest removal in Pretoria.
  • Rats or cockroaches in a food business, particularly before opening or ahead of an inspection.
  • Scorpions appearing indoors repeatedly in a home with small children.
  • Bed bugs found in a guesthouse, lodge or rental unit with guests arriving.
  • A sudden, heavy infestation in a school, care facility or office that affects people using the building.

Usually fine to book for the next working day

  • A single mouse or rat seen in the garden
  • Flying ants after the first summer storm (normal outside)
  • A few ants in the kitchen
  • Bare patches in the lawn from harvester termites
  • Millipedes or crickets after rain

Not sure which list yours belongs in? Send us a photo. That's what we're there for. A clear picture, the suburb and a line about where you found the problem tells us most of what we need to know, and it lets us bring the right equipment and products on the first visit instead of coming back.

What to do right now

Wasps

Keep everyone, especially children and pets, away from the nest and keep doors and windows near it closed. Don't hit, hose or spray the nest. If someone has been stung and shows signs of an allergic reaction, get medical help immediately.

Scorpions

Don't try to pick it up. Cover it with a glass or container and slide a piece of card underneath, or keep an eye on where it goes and take a photo. Shake out shoes and bedding before use. If anyone is stung, especially a child, get medical advice right away. Our scorpion control page explains how to tell the more dangerous types apart.

Rats in the roof or kitchen

Store all food in sealed containers or the fridge, clear any crumbs or pet food, and close interior doors to the affected area. Don't throw loose poison into the roof; it often leads to dead rats in places you can't reach. Our rat control in Pretoria page explains what we do on arrival.

Bed bugs

Don't move to another bedroom. Bed bugs follow, and you'll end up with more rooms affected. Strip the bedding, wash it hot and dry it on high heat, and bag it until it's back on the bed. Don't throw away the mattress yet. The guide on how to get rid of bed bugs covers what to do before we arrive.

Cockroaches in a restaurant

Clean down all surfaces, store food sealed, empty and clean the bins and close off drains and floor traps. Note where you're seeing them, and at what time; that information helps us place gel baits and treatments accurately. Don't spray the kitchen with an aerosol before we arrive, because cockroaches avoid treated surfaces and it can make gel baiting less effective.

What not to do in a hurry

When people are stressed by a pest problem at night, the instinct is to grab whatever spray is in the cupboard and use the lot. That sometimes makes things worse: wasps become aggressive, cockroaches scatter into new hiding spots, ants split into new colonies, and treated areas become harder for us to work with. In most cases the best thing you can do is keep people away from the problem, remove food and access, take a photo and get in touch.

What does after-hours pest control cost?

Pricing depends on the pest, the size of the property and the work involved, and we'll always talk you through it before we start. We'll also be honest if your problem can safely wait until normal hours, which is often the case.

Homes and businesses

We work with homes, complexes, security estates, offices, schools, restaurants, warehouses and industrial sites across Pretoria and Centurion. Businesses on a scheduled monitoring contract get regular visits that prevent most emergencies in the first place, and that's always our first recommendation for food businesses.

We're SAPCA registered with 25 years of experience, and our treatments carry a 3-month guarantee: if the treated pest comes back within three months, so do we. Call 012 012 5526, or WhatsApp us a photo of the problem, whatever the time.

Questions we get asked

Can I contact you at night or on a weekend?

Yes. Call 012 012 5526 or send us a WhatsApp with a photo and a short description, and we'll get back to you with advice and arrange the visit.

How do I know if my pest problem is an emergency?

If people are at risk of stings or bites, if a food business is affected, or if guests or customers are about to arrive, it's usually urgent. Most other problems can wait for normal hours.

What should I do about a wasp nest until you arrive?

Keep everyone away from it, close nearby doors and windows, and don't disturb or spray the nest.

Should I spray before you come?

Usually not. Spraying can scatter cockroaches and ants and make wasps aggressive. Remove food and access, take a photo and leave the rest to us.

Do you handle after-hours pest problems for restaurants?

Yes. Food businesses are among our most urgent calls, and a scheduled monitoring contract helps prevent emergencies in the first place.

What information should I send on WhatsApp?

A clear photo of the pest or the damage, where you found it, your suburb and how long it's been happening.
